Nairobi youths cleaning up the badly polluted Nairobi River have mad a grim discovery of 14 babies killed and dumped in the river.
The shocking incidence among the 14 bodies discovered was that of two babies’ bodies found in a plastic bag believed to be of twins. One was still breathing but could not be saved. The babies died as the youths watched and they ende up burying them where they found them.
The secret tragedy of being conceived burst into the open this week when a middle-aged boy was found strangled and dumped in the river by a separate group of Nairobi youths, conducting a cleaning of Nairobi River.
According to a statement from the governor’s spokesperson Elkana Jacob who visited the area, they suspect the hospitals nearby could be behind the merciless act of aiding young girls in doing abortion and later dumping the bodies in the river at night.
Mike Sonko has said that the county government will continue closing down all hospitals doing abortion and throwing innocent babies to Nairobi River. “We are also shutting down factories, Apartments, Institutions, which discharge effluent into the Nairobi river.” Sonko wrote in a statement
Since Nairobi governor launched the Nairobi river cleanup exercise, the number of babies found dumped in the river has now reached 14.
As well as eight babies, four dead adults have also been found during the exercise to clean up the city’s rivers.
