A big boost for Tottenham as Winks return for training ahead of June 1st clash

UEFA finalists and Mauricio Pochettino side, Tottenham Hotspurs have been done a huge boost following the return to training of a long time injured Harry Winks this week.

The England midfielder has been back in full training since the beginning of the week, barely three weeks after a successful minor operation to repair his femoral sheath, the part of his groin that had been causing him pain in recent months.

After a busy season, Winks had been struggling with the groin problem for months and had only been able to start one game in the last two months, the Champions League quarter-final first leg 1-0 home win against Manchester City at White Hart Lane.

He eventually underwent the operation on 29 April with the hope that he would be able to play in the Champions League final if Spurs reached it.

And he will now be able to train for almost two weeks before Spurs fly out to Madrid next Wednesday for the maiden Champions League finals that will be pitting twoEnglsiah clubs for the third time record.

The prospect of Winks being fit for the final gives Pochettino the possibility of fielding his strongest midfield again against Liverpool if he reunites Winks and Sissoko in the middle of the pitch.

Harry Kane and Jan Vertonghen have also been involved with the group again this week as they step up their attempts to be ready for the final.

Vartognhen was involved in a clash that saw him out of the field in the second leg of Spurs’ semi-final win over Ajax and left the stadium on crutches with his foot in a protective boot.

The Spurs manager had also earlier expressed his faith on the prospects of having England and Tottenham captain Harry Kane back for the semi-finals, his return would without a doubt a big plus for the London based club.

The skipper who got injured during their UEFA Champions League match after a dangerous tackle by City’s Delph has not played since then but has amazingly been called in England’s squad in the Nations Cup.
