PSG Clashes With Mbappe Over His Future At The Club

Where there is smoke there is fire however much you try to quell it.

Summer is always an interesting moment in European football. It is always a time of frustration, joy and reprieve for others.

Leave Manchester United alone with their woes, PSG are also under siege as some of their players are looking forward to quitting the club this summer.

Kylian Mbappe, after bagging both the Player of the Year award and Young Player of the year award said that he’s now ready to take much greater responsibility at PSG or somewhere else.

“It’s a turning point, it was the moment to say it,” Mbappé was quoted as saying by L’Equipe, per The Guardian. “I am whole.

“When I say something, I mean it. I said it. If it is at PSG, that’s good, if it is elsewhere, it is elsewhere.“

The France international, who scored 32 goals in Ligue 1 this season, added: “I have discovered a lot here, and I feel it is maybe the moment to have more responsibility.

But apparently, this statement did not go well with his club as they have come out to quieten the already spread statement.

PSG have confirmed that Mbappe will stay at the club this summer in a statement posted on Twitter.

“Strong ties have united Paris Saint-Germain and Kylian Mbappe for two years and the common story will continue next season,” it reads.

“With a shared ambition to make history in European football, the year PSG turns 50, a highly anticipated moment to also write together a big page in the history of our club in which each player must put everything on their side, always working for the collective.”

Mbappe still has a contract with the French Champions that runs until 2023.
