Learning to love yourself and your body

Stop wasting precious mental energy on hating your body. Life is short and we only get to live one life. For the little time that we have on this world we all need to learn how to love our bodies as they are and spend way less time beating ourselves down every day.

I personally have not fully learned how to love myself fully. I still pick and poke areas of my body that I wish were better. But for the past 1 year or so, I have been trying to change my views of myself and body and you should to.

Here are some of the steps I took to do just that.

STEP OFF THE SCALE

Thus is huge for me. I used to be so obsessed with being a certain weight. My goal was always to be 64kgs. Ever since I stopped caring about  the number on the scale I’ve literally felt as though a weight has been lifted off my shoulders.

Today, I would not tell you how much I weigh. And don’t get me wrong, my weight fluctuates a lot. But I don’t care. AS long as I can still kinda fit in the clothes I already own I’m good.

BE YOUR OWN BODIES BEST-FRIEND

No matter what my body is  going through I talk about it and treat it  the same way I talk and treat my best friend. If my best friend has gained a little of weight, feels giggly in areas shed prefer to not be giggly or she’s simply just eaten horribly for the past 3 weeks and is starting to feel as though it is showing in all the “wrong” areas, I always hype her up, tell her she is bomb AF and is just straight fire no matter what.

Why not put that same energy with yourself.

STOP COMPARING YOUR BODY TO OTHERS

I understand this is almost impossible and I am still very guilt of still doing this. But I’ve started making a conscious effort to stop myself why I feel my thoughts moving towards the comparison route.

Every time I feel myself moving there, I quickly stop myself and repeat to myself “That’s her and I’m me”

CARE FOR YOUR BODY SO THAT YOUR BODY CAN CARE FOR YOU

I’m honestly still working on this. I try to stay active in one form or another but I’m not consistent at all. I want to get to the point where I genially love giving my body what it needs vs what I want. I want cakes and pies 3 times a day but what my body really needs is a healthy balanced diet. This is still in the works so I’ll let you know next year where I am.

FIND THE PARTS OF YOUR BODY THAT YOU LOVE

I’m not a fan of every part of my body. I have areas that I hate but instead of just focusing on that I’ve started to focus on the parts that I love. For example I love my eyes.

So instead of focusing on the fact that your waist is 29,5 inches instead of 25 inches, you should focus on how great you look in short skirts or a dress.

CUT PEOPLE OFF WHO MAKE YOU FEEL LESS THAN

This is huge. They same way you are willing yo hit that block button for someone who disrespects you in anyway, do the same thing in real life. If someone is not giving you the energy in life that you need. Take them out of your life.

That includes people who love giving back-handed compliments, flaw finders,” I will only say something nice to you only if you say something nice about me first” kind of people. Surround yourself with positive vibes.
