Kenyans. We love our avocados as much as the next person.

Avocado is an affordable luxury some take for granted. Avocado being a rather soft creamy flavoured fruit, to its advantage this also makes it have a very versatile flavour. Try these on for size:

1. Lime, chilli and coriander

This is a marinade that plays with all the sensory organs, a little kick from the chilli, the tangy from the lime and the aromatic freshness of the coriander.

2. Orange and ginger

This may seem a little strange but surprisingly the flavour balance has a great aromatic fresh feel from the ginger and the mild zesty sweetness of the oranges.

3, Salt and vinegar

This is one for the books being a classic combination of potato crisps, simple salad dressings and now I urge you to try this on your avo and you’ll forever be on it.

4. Spiced olive oil

This is a little tricky, by simply gathering your favourite combination of spices, a quarter of a cup of olive oil, combine and mix well and microwave for a minute, let it cool and drizzle over your avocado and voila.

5. Garlic and lemon

Garlic being a strongly flavoured ingredient in this mix, you should always remember a little goes a long way, so depending on your avocado portion then i’d suggest half a clove to one whole one.

6. Basil and black pepper

Basil is categorized under the soft herbs of the world, this makes it very soft on your pallet with a sweetness. The black pepper helps accentuate the flavour of the basil plus also giving this mix a slight kick.
