VIDEO: Senator Malala vows to sue IG Mutyambai, CS Matiang’i

Kakamega County Senator Hon Cleophas Malala has vowed to sue Inspector General of Police Hillary Mutyambai and Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang’i over his Friday arrest over recent Matungu killings.

Malala who was unconditionally released on Sunday night following a release  order from Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Norrdin Haji says his arrest was political.

The DPP had ordered all arrested suspects in the Matungu killings to be unconditionally released pending investigations and report back to the police today (Monday) at 10:00am without fail.

Malala who was addressing the media outside Kisumu Central police station after his release said he was embarrassed with the questions he was asked that linked him to Matungu killings.

He says the first question he was asked was whether he lives in Matungu, and the person who asked was surprised to realize that Malala lives in Kakamega town and not Matungu.

He says the second question demanded him to explain his relationship with Mayoni MCA Hon Libinus Oduory who was also arrested in connection to the killings in Matungu.

The third question demanded him to explain his relationship with Matungu Constituency MP Hon Justus Murunga, and the fourth question was that if he was aware that Hon Oduory was vying for a parliamentary seat in Matungu come 2022.

The last question demanded him to say if he new a gang group called 42 brothers.
