Sakaja mourns former National Assembly Clerk Bundi

Nairobi County Senator Johnson Sakaja joined the family of the former clerk of the National Assembly in celebrating a life well lived on Monday.

While taking to social media Sakaja remembered the late Bundi as a diligent person and dedication to public service.

“Joined family and friends of the Late Former Clerk of the National Assembly, Justin Bundi as we celebrated his life during a requiem mass held earlier today. The late Bundi is fondly remembered for his humility, diligent and dedication to public service. May he Rest in Peace.”

The immediate clerk Bundi died on Saturday evening while undergoing Cancer treatment at Aga Khan Hospital, Nairobi.

Bundi led an illustrious career in the civil service rising from a District Officer through the ranks to the position of Clerk, National Assembly, where he served until his retirement in March 2017.

National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi described Bundi as a personal friend whom he had known from high school.

“He will be remembered for initiating great reforms during the transition from a unicameral establishment to a bicameral Parliament and also for his outstanding service as the Clerk of the East African Assembly,” Muturi said.

Bundi had also served as the personal assistant to former House Speaker Francis ole Kaparo and a commissioner to the Commission of Revenue Allocation.
