Ruto ally got up in a serious scam days after pressing DCI to probe fake gold scam

Over the weekend, Sirisia Constituency Member of parliament John Walukhe was in Deputy President Dr William Ruto’s company in Trans Nzoia County preaching the Tanga Tanga gospel, with the word of the day deriving from the fake gold scandal, where he demanded DCI to probe the opposition.

Bungoma senator Moses Wetangula who worked with ODM leader Raila Odinga inthe past 2017 election has been greatly linked to the fake gold scam. This prompted tanga tanga team to demand Raila’s answer on his involvement in the gold scandal.

Walukhe on his part called on DCI to move with speed and nail the culprits, little did he know that his scandal was just awaiting. Court has found him and mother to former environment CS Judy Wakhungu have a case to answer over the National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB) scam case.

The two and Erad supplies limited were put on their defense by Magistrate Elizabeth Juma.

“Going by the evidence adduced by the prosecution side the court is certain that a Prima face case has been made against the three to warrant them being placed in their defence,” said the court.

The case involves Grace Wakhungu a director of Erad and Walukhe.

Waluke is accused of altering a false document.

It is alleged on February 24, 2009, being the director of Erad, he knowingly and fraudulently altered a false invoice for the sum of $1,146,000 (Sh114 million) to be used as evidence in the arbitration dispute between his company and the National Cereals and Produce Board.

The alleged uttered invoice was to be used to support a claim for cost of storage of 40,000 tonnes of maize that was incurred by Chelsea Freight.

Many small-scale millers have closed due to the maize shortage, said Peter Kuguru, chairman of small-scale millers under the United Grain Millers Association.

“Today there is no maize. Farmers and traders who are hoarding are confused. Some traders got whiff of news that the CS will be releasing maize this week so they do not want to be caught with stocks as prices are likely to fall,” Kuguru said.

On April 27, the Strategic Food Reserve board and NCPB officials met to discuss how much maize should be released millers and at what price. Will he again run to DP Ruto for salvation?
