An audio clip where Bungoma Senetor Moses Wetangula allegedly implicated his political enemy Raila Odinga and President Kenyatta in what looked like a powerfully-chained Gold export scam seem to have made things even worse for the Former Senate Minority leader.

Wetangula left the country Friday amidst this stalemate.

The United Arab Emirates however, has asked the Kenyan government for a whooping 4 billion as compensation for losses incurred over the gold scam. This comes as it is alleged that the custom officials were holding Gold consignment to the Arab Gold traders.

The government of Kenya is pressed as to whether or not to pay 4 billion shillings to the royal family in Dubai—sources indicate the United Arab Emirates has filed a protest letter to the Kenyan government over the gold deal that fell apart—a deal now allegedly involving top government officials.

According to Africa Report magazine, Zandi who is a representative of Royal Family in Dubai had a contract with Zaheer Jhanda to export the Gold from DRC to Dubai via Kenya.

Upon receiving information that the gold-cargo was being held up at the airport, Zandi made several trips to Kenya to secure the export in vain. Fast forward, in the audio clip Wetangula mentioned names of Raila Odinga, President Kenyatta and Interior CS Fred Matiangi in a heated convo with agitated Zandi on phone. The clip suggest the president, the ODM party leader and CS Matiang’i were part of the fake gold racket.

However, this 4 Billion quote comes at a time Kenya is pondering on servicing its international debt.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, prime minister of the UAE, is said to be unhappy with the Kenyan government for allegedly holding gold belonging to the royal family.

Could this brew a diplomatic scuffle between the two nations?
