The rising number of Kenyans being listed on credit reference bureau (CRB) is worrying. The Interior Permanent Secretary Karanja Kibicho accompanied CS Fred Matiang’i to a consultative meeting with BCLB where he listed the number.
According to Karanja Kibicho, over 500,000 Kenyans (a majority of whom are jobless young people under 35) have been blacklisted by CRB over defaults in repaying money borrowed for gambling.
Gambling has been blamed as a leading cause that most young people borrow money to venture into.
