Powermen Neutralized by visiting Mathare United to a barren draw

Kenyan Premier League side Western Stima FC were today neutralized to a draw by Mathare United in a league match at the Moi Stadium in Kisumu as the KPL continues with its round 31 matches.

Stima’s last two outings already saw the side fall in three successive away matches, one to Sofapaka and another two to Kakamega Homeboyz and Zoo Kericho.

The side, currently coached by former Sony Sugar FC tactician Salim Babu is now assisted in the coaching department by Hesbon Nyabinge who is also a former player at the club.

Nyabinge has been roped in to assist Babu to keep the team afloat and crosses over from the Green Commandos who ply their trade in the second tier National Super League.

Stima currently sit 13th on the KPL table standings with 4 matches to go and needed a win today to steer clear of relegation threats.

Mathare meanwhile, who are placed 6th on the log maintained their position after missing the opportunity to leapfrog 5th placed Sony Sugar.

Western Stima will host Posta Rangers on Wednesday, May 22nd at the Moi Stadium while Mathare United will face it off with 2nd placed Bandari at the Kasarani Stadium.
