Another accident by dangerous Tahmeed Bus heading to Mombasa

A swift journey turned tragic after a Mombasa bound Tahmeed bus crashed at Interchick in Dar es Salaam early in the morning at around 6.00 am.

The bus is said to have been speeding when it lost control and hit a trailer, injuring several people. Its reported that three people had serious head injuries and were rushed to hospital.

In February this year 25 people suffered serious injuries after the Tahmeed Bus they had boarded heading to Mombasa from Nairobi was involved in a road accident.

25 Seriously Injured

The accident on the Nairobi-Mombasa Highway at the Miasenyi area, Voi Sub County, Taita-Taveta County occurred after the Tahmeed Bus skidded and overturned leading to critical injuries on the passengers.

“The bus was overlapping another vehicle travelling in the same direction and in the process, the driver lost control. The bus rolled several times injuring 25 passengers,” Voi traffic Base Commander Michael Muriithi confirmed the incident.

In November last year, at least 47 passengers escaped unhurt after a Tahmeed Mombasa-bound bus caught fire in Manyani, Taita Taveta County.

In October 2017, another Tahmeed bus which was was filmed speeding on the Nairobi-Mombasa highway was been found road unworthy after undergoing a motor vehicle inspection.

The Nairobi-Mombasa highway has reported a number of road accidents this year. Overlapping, speeding and generally careless driving have been blamed for a high number of road carnage which has triggered the campaign ‘Ongea!Usinyamaze!’
