Ford Kenya Party Leader Moses Wetangula may be forced to face the music alone in the fake gold syndicate Dubai Royal family.
Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta’s names were dragged into fake gold scandal in a leaked audio clip.
A close ally of Deputy President William Ruto has gone forth to defend the two claiming that the two leaders names’ for the purpose of duping Dubai’s royal family for his own gains.
Raila and Uhuru’s names cropped up in a secret audio where Bungoma senator Moses Wetangula is heard pleading with members of the Royal family to give scammers time to deliver since ‘Uhuru and Raila were on the matter’.
But Ainabkoi MP William Chepkut says Senator Wetangula used to ‘massage egos’ of Dubai Royal family.
“Hon Moses Wetangula’s invoking @RailaOdinga and Presidents names in his swindling schemes was just to massage the egos of the Arab men who were getting impatient. There is no way the President can be involved in swindling fellow head of state in the name of Dubai Royal family,” he said.

On Thursday, lead detective George Kinoti said Senator Wetangula is among persons of interest who will be grilled in the scam that saw Dubai businessman losing over Sh400 million.
“He is a person of interest and we shall be interrogating him and all others mentioned to determine their degree of involvement,” said Mr Kinoti.
Senator Wetangula’s aide Chris Mandu said that the Bungoma legislator was also a victim in the deal, adding that he also lost millions in the scandal.
“It’s very unfortunate that some people are now trying to politicise the whole matter in which the senator lost huge amounts of money,” Mr Mandu said.
