With the hustle out here being critical for Kenyans who can’t seem to be knocking on opportunities to survive on, the National Employment Authority( NEA) couldn’t be more on time with the launch of an online database where employers will post available job opportunities and the much in need job seekers will register  for available vacancies.

This move is aimed at helping in the realisation of one of the Big Four Agenda items – the Manufacturing pillar – which has a job creation goal.

Currently NEA has facilitated the placement of over 40,000 job seekers in Kenya and abroad, formulated a national internship policy to guide the implementation of the internship programmes in public and private sectors and developed a plan of action for the national employment policy and for Kenya.

Principal Secretary in the State Department for Labour Eng. Peter Kiplagat said this year alone the Government aims to create 1.2 million jobs to absorb the ever increasing number of applicants in the labour market. NEA aims to help in achieving this goal through the online platform.

“We settle down to fulfill our mandate, we recall our obligations to our citizens and to the international communities in matters of labour, the PS said.”

Mr Kiplagat spoke during the launch of NEA programme that was held in Nairobi where the body also unveiled information handbooks on pre-departure, a policy that aims at facilitating the placement of jobs in the international arena.
