‘I gave up for 2 years!’ Funny man Akuku Danger opens up about his lowest time as a struggling comedian

Akuku Danger is an MC, Entertainer and a Performer who is so passionate about entertainment. During an interview with a popular media house, the Comedian opened up about his struggles as an upcoming artiste and early life.

The first time he was given a large platform was on Churchill show he was intimidated by the light skin girls in the VIP section that he forgot his lines on stage. He completely blacked out and ended up doing only one joke. All he can remember was the harsh bright lights burning his face, something he wasn’t accustomed to.

The experience completely broke his self-esteem and confidence which forced him to take a break.

He took a 2 year break after that. He focused on his education then, completely questioning his purpose in life. By the time he got back, he was determined to rebrand himself. From the boy who first showed up on Churchill Show with jeans and a t-shirt, he came back all suited up.

How you present yourself says alot about your brand, and he was determined to be taken seriously in his career.

He advised hopefuls that you don’t have to be on TV to make it as a comedian in Kenya, you can also start on Social media. He is inspired by Kevin Hart’s stand-up comedy and he would also like to package himself like that. In Kenya, he looks up to Sleepy in terms of content and packaging.

Apart from Churchill Show, he has done a big international show in Rwanda that has grown his exposure.
