Harambee Stars head coach Sebastian Migne has explained why he gave a call up to AFC Leopards midfielder Wyvonne Isuza to his Preliminary squad for the African Cup of Nations set to be held in  Egypt next month.

Isuza has been one of AFC Leopards brightest sparks in the last two season and Migne has called on him to prove that especially in Sunday’s Mashemeji Derby clash with Gor Mahia.

”For Isuza, I don’t know whether he will be on my final list. But it was to send a message, be ready. It’s not the end of his career. If he scores some goal in Mashemeji Derby and shows me he is the boss on the field better than some players, he will give me an answer. A positive answer,” Migne said in an interview with a local TV station.

The Frenchman further added that Masud Juma’s selection was based on his showing in Harambee Stars clash with Ghana in the qualifiers.

I will have some answers about Masud in the next game. He arrived yesterday from Libya, that means the motivation to compete. I will have some training on Monday, I think he is already training with some local league. Of course, his situation was difficult in Libya. We have one month. He showed me he had something to give the national team in Ghana…he is the kind of player under pressure.

Harambee Stars are grouped alongside Senegal, Algeria and East African neighbors Tanzania.
