Matters to do with religion seems to be so tough in some countries and followers have no alternative choice.

Muslims are now in their 11th day of Holy Ramadan where they are expected to fast during the day as a religious doctrine.

Anyone who practises Islam must fast.

In Nigeria, the laws are so strict that Sharia police know as Hisaba have been put in place to arrest any non-compliance.

Shariah police to arrest those eating in public during Ramadan in Nigeria

Shocking reports have indicated that the constituted Islamic Sharia police in northern Nigeria’s Kano state detained 80 adults accused of eating in public, rather than fasting from dawn to sunset.

According to the Sharia law enforcers spokesperson, Adamu Yahaya, all those arrested were Muslims.

Non-Muslims are never targeted even if they eat in public during the sacred month because they are not bound by Islamic law.

In defence, the offenders claimed that they were eating because they did not sight the Ramadan crescent themselves while others feigned sickness, but the authorities found their excuses baseless.

However, the gluttons who can not stay for only 12 hours without eating were admonished and released because they were ”first-time offenders.

Shameful!

In Kenya, Ramadan practice is not so strict and it is upon the individual to fast or not. Faith is a matter between you and your God.

The state treats Religion as an independent entity.
