Standstill at Real Madrid Over Pogba and Christian Eriksen

Tottenham Hotspur is one of the most improved English clubs this season. They have managed to comfortably finish in the top-four position, qualifying for the next season’s Champions League.

For the first time ever, Mauricio’s boys have reached the Champions League final after miraculously coming back from a 1-0 defeat at their stadium and 2-0 at Amsterdam, to score three goals, winning with away goal advantage.

Surprisingly, Spurs have made all these achievements without spending even a penny in last year’s summer transfer. And this summer could be a busy one as one of their star already announcing his exit this summer.

Christian Eriksen’s transfer news has been running in the headlines and it seems the time has come for Spurs to start living without the Danish footballer. The attacking midfielder is left with only one year to run on his contract.

Real Madrid had made several advances and are close to sealing the deal.

However, there is just one factor that is impeding the move. It is reported that there has been a serious tussle at Bernabeu as the manager Zinedine Zidane and Real President Florentino Perez clashed over who to sign between Eriksen and Pogba.

While Zidane advocates for the coming of Pogba, Perez is reported to advocate for Christian Eriksen and Lyon full-back Ferland Mendy.

According to reports, Eriksen has put on hold signing of a new contract with Spurs hoping to receive an approach for him.
