Residents of Vihiga county have all reasons to smile after the county’s governor Dr. Wilber Otichillo launched the construction of new 75 ECDE classes across the whole county.
Accompanied by Luanda Township ward area MCA, Tom Atingo and Tambua Ward area MCA Karega Mboku; the governor laid the foundation stones at Mumboha Primary school in Luanda Sub-county and Simbi Primary school in Hamisi sub-county.
This comes a day after the governor promised to commence the project while issuing launching the issuance of 50 water tanks for ECDE schools across the County at ISITSI primary school.
The project will ensure Completion of stalled ECDE classrooms across the County as well as the construction of modern classes in Primary schools that lack ECDE facilities.
The water tank project is intended to guarantee clean and safe water to the pupils as well as reduce the time spent in search of Water by either going back home or going to the streams.
Last Saturday, the governor met with all ECDE teachers from across the County, where he shared with them their new salaries and benefits as budgeted for in the 2018/19 financial year.
The ECDE classrooms once complete will cost Ksh. 85 million.
