Kenyans are saddened by the fact that the country’s freedom fighter’s families are living in a pathetic and poor lifestyle– some are even homeless.
In a quick flashback, President Uhuru Kenyatta and His DP William Ruto during their inauguration in 2013 made a promise to improve the sorry state of our freedom heroes– nothing has been done so far.
It is the greatest irony of Kenya’s independence struggle: those who fought for it emerged from the bush to find their land gone.
They were rendered too poor to raise money to buy even an inch of the land they fought to regain from the white man.
Dedan Kimathi is, by all standards, a true Kenyan hero and patriot. He was captured and executed for championing the freedom cause. It’s time the Kenyan and British Govts helped trace his remains for a decent send-off. #ADecentBurial4Kimathi pic.twitter.com/YubICx5ok9

The sad move has seen United Kenyans launch a campaign to raise funds to help elevate the poor Mau Mau heroes.
The veterans freedom Fighters helped the nation achieve its independence 62 years ago.
Every coin, each generous contribution, support of any kind will go a long way in helping resettle our Mau Mau heroes. #HelpSettleMauMauHeroes pic.twitter.com/ieoCdHbx6k

Every time there is someone in misery, someone somewhere gains more, that's how the current world operates.
From the ruins of post-independent Kenya rose quite a number of rich families. Families of traitors and snitches. The real scums in our society. #HomelessPatriots pic.twitter.com/4ZeV2dw3dH

every year we celebrate Mashujaa Day; not just to remind ourselves the greatness of freedom fighters all over the country that died for us but also the horrible iniquities, cruelties and brutalities of colonial subjugation, lest we forget and beckon them back. #HomelessPatriots
