Deputy President William Ruto has been a man on a mission for the past few months. He is on a mission to fill his train to Statehouse with worthy occupants who will guarantee him a win come 2022 as the race for the Presidency gains momentum.
Ruto has been transversing various Parts of the Country to drum up support for his bid. During his various visits in different parts of the Country, Ruto has been able to convince a number of leaders to join his brigade.
Last weekend, the never resting Ruto was in Turkana where he left a happy man after managing to make Governor Josphat Nanok fall for his ideas.
Nanok, a senior ODM official and the only Governor from the Orange Party in the region promised to join forces with other Rift Valley Governors to ensure Ruto becomes President come 2022.
“As 14 governors from Rift Valley, we are working on a plan to fully support the Deputy President and form the next government because the whole country is focusing on Rift Valley to produce the next president. As Turkana people, we want to be part of that government. I will not accept to be outside government again,” Mr Nanok, the ODM vice-chairman, said.
DP Ruto must be a happy man to have Governor Nanok on his side having already lost Elgeyo-Marakwet Governor Alex Tolgos to Baringo Senator Gideon Moi’s camp.
Ruto has also lost Uasin Gishu businessman Zedekiah Bundotich Kiprop who joined Isaac Ruto’s Chama Cha Mashinani (CCM)
Nanok’s move to Ruto’s Camp has elicited different reactions among Kenyans with many apparently angry at the Governor.
Some have argued that his move to Ruto’s camp is a strategic way to position himself for Ruto’s goodies and secure an appointment should Ruto make it to Statehouse in 2022.
According to Self Declared NRM General Miguna Miguna, Nanok has the right to support anyone but he has no right to be “Stupid”

After looting the counties dry, most Governors whose terms are coming to an end are now angling for gvt positions and/or gvt contracts in 2022, to continue ‘eating’ , and they do not see any other candidate who can take care of their interest more than Ruto presidency
