Harambee Stars head coach has rung a few surprises in his Preliminary squad for the African Cup of Nations Tournament set to be held in Cairo Egypt next month. For starters, AFC Leopards defender David Cheche Ochieng has missed out on a spot while tow goalkeepers from Kariobangi sharks made the cut.
Kenya Premier League top scorer Allan Wanga has been include alongside AFC Leopards Winger Paul Were. Former Tusker FC Striker who is currently at Zambian side Zesco did not make the squad, much to his fans displeasure. Were has been absent from the Harambee Stars team for quite a while despite him finding the back of the net in a healthy sequence for his club.
The tournament kicks off on June 21st with Kenya grouped together with Sadio Mane’s Senegal, Riyad Mahrez’s Algeria and East African neighbors Tanzania. It will be the first time the Country will feature in the Continental showpiece in 15 years, having last featured in the 2004 edition held in Tunisia. Kenyans had this to say on Migne’s selection…
FINAL!
Migne's decision is final. We can only sympathise with Jesse Were who has again been excluded from Harambee Stars 30 man squad a head of AFCON set for next month in Egypt

Great insights here…
We have two goalkeepers from Kariobangi Sharks, which is quite peculiar because one of them actually cost the country a place in the U-23 AFCON and Olympic qualifiers. 🤔😁#AFCON2019
