Manchester United done a big blow as star target makes his mind on his next club

Matthijs de Ligt has already agreed on figures to join his teammate Frankie De Jong who was signed in January on a deal to join Barcelona this summer, according to reports from Spain.

The Holland international has been a Premier League target, with both Manchester United and Liverpool being linked with the centre-back in recent weeks after the 19-year-old showed his powers during the Champions League campaign where his side, Ajax reached the finals.

But the Red Devils are concerned about the defender’s possible weight gain, as it has been recently revealed by an international Sports media house although the allegations have not been made clear and clean, while Liverpool already has a number of top quality centre-backs on their books including Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez.

This has left the door open for Barcelona, who have already signed De Ligt’s Ajax team-mate Frankie de Jong for £67million ahead of the window opening.

And according to Oriol Domenech, talking on the Club de la Mitjanit programme on Esport 3, the figures to get the deal done have already been agreed.

Domenech claims De Ligt’s agent Mino Raiola met with Barcelona representatives in Monaco to thrash out the finer details of the transfer, and that the Spanish club is confident of completing the deal.

De Ligt came close to reaching the Champions League final with Ajax this season but was seen off the competition by Tottenham at the semi-finals where the English team pulled an expected come back with Lucas Moura getting his side a hat trick.

The Amsterdam-based club made it all the way to the semi-finals, knocking Juventus and Real Madrid out on the way, before losing on away goals to Tottenham.
