How Arsenal and Manchester United could get into the Champions League equation if City gets a ban

UEFA investigations on financial irregularities that the English Premier giants bloated could land them in big trouble if the findings are going to be found positive.

Despite the findings having been concluded, the final decision is expected to come from the UEFA Chief Investigator Yves Leterme which are expected to be made public anytime.

If Manchester City is found guilty of the financial malpractices, they are likely going to face a Champions League ban.which would be in turn good news to other Premier League clubs in England.

Officials from UEFA’s financial control board are set to submit their findings and will reportedly push for at least a one-year ban from Europe’s premier competition.

It remains to be seen quite how hard UEFA will come down on City but a potential suspension would likely open the door for another Premier League club but as it stands, City will be joined in next season’s Champions League by Liverpool, Tottenham and Chelsea.

Arsenal and Manchester United missed out but the former could still qualify through the Europa League which they have entered into the finals against their London rivals Chelsea.

Should Manchester City miss out, the gunners would be the most likely to fill City’s spot in next season’s Champions League through their Premier League position. But victory for the Gunners in Baku could potentially see City’s rivals United be drafted into the equation.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men ended the season in sixth, although it is unclear if UEFA would instead give City’s spot to another domestic competition.

Pep Guardiola’s side can secure a historic treble when they take on Watford at Wembley in the FA Cup final over the weekend.

They have already won the Premier League and Carabao Cup against Chelsea and victory on Saturday will mean they have claimed five of the last six domestic trophies.
