One of Unai Emery or Maurizio Sarri is going to end their first season in London with a trophy.
Arsenal faces Chelsea in the Europa League final in Baku on May 25.
Chelsea is already in next season’s Champions League having finished the Premier League season in third.
Arsenal is still chasing a Champions League spot after ending their campaign in fifth.
If the Gunners win in Azerbaijan, they’ll gain entry into the 2019-20 Champions League.
Tottenham is also in next season’s Champions League by virtue of finishing fourth.
Spurs’ season isn’t yet over either, as they take on Liverpool in the Champions League final.
On Tuesday, ESPN have looked into the implications of what happens if Arsenal win the Europa League and Liverpool beat Tottenham in the Champions League.
Should that happen, Arsenal will go into pot 1 while Tottenham would only be in pot 3.
Stating the obvious, that would leave Spurs facing a potentially extremely difficult group.
If Tottenham beat Liverpool in the Champions League final, they’ll cement a place in pot 1 next season.
According to ESPN, the composition for the 2019-20 Champions League group phase currently looks like this.
To be clear, these pots are not yet confirmed.
POT 1: Liverpool or Tottenham (UCL winners), Arsenal or Chelsea (UEL winners), Barcelona, Manchester City, Juventus, Bayern Munich or Borussia Dortmund, Paris Saint-Germain, Zenit St Petersburg
POT 2: Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Sevilla, FC Porto, Liverpool (if lose UCL final), Chelsea (if lose UEL final), Bayern Munich or Borussia Dortmund, AS Roma.
