Residents in Shariani, Kilifi, were left in shock after a woman, underwent labour pains only to deliver what was described as a mass that resembled a fish.

Sarah Jabiri  revealed that she was convinced that she had been bewitched as she didn’t even know that she was pregnant.

Adding that she underwent labour pains that lasted for an entire week before she finally gave birth to what she termed as a creature which had eyes and a fish-tail.

“It was like labour pain which accompanied with bleeding that lasted for a week before I felt some force in my abdomen and pushed the mass out,” a startled Jabiri disclosed.

Her husband was described as having been stunned to total silence, with Jabari claiming that all he did was stare at the foetus without uttering a single word.

Ms Jabiri was then rushed to the Kilifi County Referral Hospital where Dr Eddy Nzomo claimed that it could have been a case of molar pregnancy.

An abnormality of the placenta, caused by a problem when the egg and sperm join together at fertilization, usually as a result of a genetic error during the fertilization process that leads to a growth of abnormal tissue within the uterus.

Dr Nzomo went on to refute the widely believed notion that Ms Nzomo had been bewitched, and asserted that it was merely a genetic abnormality.

However, Ms Jabiri remained convinced that someone had bewitched her adding that she was very thankful that God had saved her from the jaws of death.

The doctor on his end urged the locals who had accompanied Ms Jabari to the hospital to ensure that they visited clinics regularly during pregnancies to ensure that any similar abnormalities are spotted and rectified on time.
