The race for top four will reach its exhilarating end today as Chelsea go head to head with Leicester.

Indeed, Chelsea faces Leicester City in their final Premier League game of the season knowing that Champions League football for next season has already been confirmed.

With the Blues also in the final of the Europa League on May 29, there is a chance for head coach Maurizio Sarri to rest some of his players so that there are no unexpected injuries ahead of that big game.

The Foxes have nothing to play for as well but have been playing some decent football under Brendan Rodgers and will provide a tough test for Sarri.

Davide Zappacosta, Marcos Alonso, Pedro, Willian and Ross Barkley might well come into the side to rotate some players.

But the big name in the middle of defence that could come in is Gary Cahill, with the injury to Andreas Christensen on Thursday night.

That could give Cesar Azpilicueta a chance to rest having played a great number of games for the Blues throughout the course of the campaign.

“For sure, it will be very difficult for Sunday, I think,” Sarri said on Thursday night after the win over Eintracht.

“But we need to consider that our best match, in my opinion, was here in Stamford Bridge against Tottenham, three days after 120 minutes in the cup final against Manchester City.

“Of course, now it’s more difficult, I think. We played 61 matches, so it’s very difficult. We need to rest, of course. Unfortunately we have to go to the US to play a match. And then we have, after the US, 10 days to prepare the last match.”

“It will be a very difficult match, physically but also mentally. Especially mentally. Physically we can recover.

“No 100%, but we can recover.”
