Why Real Madrid Fear Christian Eriksen Deal Could Be Off – Despite Spurs Star ‘Agreeing Terms’

Real was the Dane on board this summer as part of Zinedine Zidane’s revamp of the team.

Eden Hazard and Paul Pogba are other top stars being linked with the club as the Frenchman gets down to work.

But getting a deal done for Eriksen could prove tricky after Tottenham’s season was extended to June 1 following their stunning elimination of Ajax on Wednesday.

Starsport have already reported claims from Spain that the Spurs star has agreed personal terms with Madrid ahead of a move.

But AS now suggest Real are getting twitchy about the prospect of completing a swoop for Eriksen, they fear that if Tottenham beat Liverpool at the Wanda Metropoliano to win their first Champions League, then Daniel Levy could hike up the cost of signing Eriksen.

It’s claimed Spurs want €100m (£86m), but Madrid are only willing to spend a maximum of €70m (£60m).

AS suggest the Premier League side could increase their asking price if Eriksen becomes a European champion, and the prospect of the midfielder asking to be paid more for that new status isn’t ruled out either.
