Popular Citizen Television news anchor Yvonne Okwara has come out guns blazing as she directs her anger on President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto over alleged pay rise plan.
Speaking during a live recording of the show News Gang on Thursday night, Okwara insinuated that it would be a little irresponsible for them to accept the rise nearly two years after they made a commitment for a 20 percent pay cut.
The outspoken journalist further revealed that the increase would add more burden since Members of the National Assembly are also on a mission to add themselves allowances.
“Tonight, I am confused…There are reports that the president and his deputy will receive a pay rise…Now let me take you back to the fact that they reportedly took a pay cut before the 2017 elections to curb the ballooning wage bill.
“I say reportedly because it is difficult for us to independently verify that they indeed took home less money,” stated Okwara.
Okwara is not new to expressing her views live on TV. Recently she openly came out to dismiss comments by Deputy President, William Ruto
as petty politics when the DP said that nobody had died in Turkana as a result of hunger.
Okwara-Matole dared DP Ruto to get his act right and also castigated Devolution CS, Eugene Wamalwa for profound lethargy and aloofness.
