The band has had several successful tours in Africa and Europe, topped Kenyan charts and gained international attention with shows in Europe and the US, as well as television appearances and various accolades and nominations, including their 2011 concert performance in Kenya with South African a cappella group Ladysmith Black Mambazo.

The band has also received both local and international accolades and nominations like; Kisima music awards, Channel O Music Video Awards, MTV Europe Music Award for Best African Act and BET Awards 2015.

They also recently got another international nomination. The group had been nominated for Nickledoen’s Kids choice awards. They battled for the tittle of Favorite African Star alongside Nigeria’s Adesua Etomi, IK Osakioduwa and Ghana’s StoneBwoy.

Bien Aime Barasa said the group was more than honored to be nominated for the awards; “It is a great pleasure really to be nominated for the awards especially since we are the first Kenyans to be nominated for the Kids choice awards.

I’ve always just watched them on Tv. Honestly, even if we don’t win it is still a big achievement for Sauti Sol to get such a nomination.”
