Tottenham or Liverpool? Which Champions League Comeback Was The Most Captivating?

DailyStar

The UEFA Champions League has seen lots of major comebacks this season. Jurgen Klopp’s boys overturned a 3-0 first-leg loss to advance to the final after a stunning 4-0 win at Anfield on Tuesday.

Despite having Mo Salah and Roberto Firmino out injured, Jordan Henderson playing through the pain barrier and Andrew Robertson forced off a half-time – Jurgen Klopp‘s men still got the job done.

Tottenham used that as inspiration the following night when they dumped out Ajax in dramatic fashion too.

Spurs were 1-0 down from the first-leg in London and after falling 2-0 behind in Amsterdam they looked doomed.

But Lucas Moura quickly turned the game on its head with two goals in as many minutes after half-time.

And the Brazilian then made himself an all-time Tottenham hero by firing in the winner in the last minute of extra time.

It sparked jubilant scenes in Amsterdam as Spurs set-up an all-English final against Liverpool at Atletico Madrid’s Wanda Metropolitano Stadium on June 1.

And we want to know which comeback you think is the most impressive?

As the fallout continues from a week of TWO Champions League miracles:

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino is predicting an “amazing” Champions League final against Liverpool.

Pochettino was reduced to tears after the game after performing what he called a “miracle” and they will now meet Jurgen Klopp‘s side in the Spanish capital.

“Allow me to relax a little bit, there is going to be time to talk about Liverpool,” he said.

“I want to congratulate Jurgen Klopp and all the players and Liverpool, because I think they were amazing.

“We enjoyed a lot, watching the tie against Barcelona, they are heroes too and of course it is going to be an amazing final between two English teams that for sure we are going to enjoy.”

Spurs have battled against two transfer windows without making a signing, a crippling injury list and playing most of the season at Wembley, leading Pochettino to call his players “superheroes”.

“It’s difficult with words to describe my feelings and my emotions,” he said.

“I think it’s one of the most important nights in my life. How the game finished, everything that happened, the first half, how we planned to play, how the plan was down after three minutes when we conceded the goal, and I think everything was amazing.”
