Mtikitiki appointed new GM for Coca-Cola East and Central Africa

THE Coca-Cola Company, has appointed Phillipine Mtikitiki as its new Franchise General Manager for East and Central Africa with effect from June 1 2019.

Phillipine takes over from Ahmed Rady who has been appointed as General Manager, Egypt, effective 1st June 2019. He will be based in Cairo, Egypt.

Mtikitiki will be based in Nairobi, Kenya and has been appointed on the strengths of her experience in fast-moving consumer goods given her has a wealth of experience in operations, marketing, planning and commercial strategy. Her area of jurisdiction will cover Zimbabwe.

“She joined the Coca-Cola Company as a graduate associate in 1998 and in her current role she is responsible for stewarding the development and execution of business strategy across 12 markets, while working with bottling partners to focus on Coca-Cola system alignment and growth,” said the multinational company in a statement.

According to the statement, some of Mtikitiki’s achievements include managing large teams in different locations, setting up successful strategic distribution partners, sales organisational redesign, customer service excellence, business growth and building a strong diverse talent pipeline.

In 2011, she rejoined the company as Channel Manager for Wholesale, South Africa and later got promoted to Head of Commercial Planning, in 2013.

Mtikitiki was instrumental in stewarding shopper and channel strategy, leading strategic projects, building shopper insights pipeline, developing planning processes, and tracking tools and processes.

In 2017, she took on the role of Regional Franchise director for Zambia, Botswana, Namibia and Mozambique, where she led some of these countries in re-franchising under Coca-Cola Beverages Africa – Project Savannah Phase 2.

Until this appointment, she briefly served as operations director for Coca-Cola Kenya and Tanzania.

Coca-cola said Mtikitki has a passion for advocating for the African girl-child at the grassroots level. She is a champion for the development of African talent and acceleration of growth opportunities for women and youth in the continent.
