Governor Kingi Says The Dilapidated Classrooms Of Mangororo Not His Problem

Kilifi County Governor Amason Kingi has distanced himself from the dilapidated classrooms of Mangororo Primary School in Ganze Constituency.

Kingi says the county deals with the Early Childhood Development section of the school and not the primary section.

In a statement Kingi stated that the primary school section is under the national government and not the county.

Kilifi County was on the spot after photos of students sitting on bricks went viral on social media on Thursday morning 9 May.

The school which has been identified as Mangororo Primary School is located in Jaribuni Ward, Ganze Sub county.

The photos circulating online show some students sitting while others standing on bricks which have submerged on muddy water due to the ongoing rains.

Ganze Member of Parliament (MP) Teddy Mwambire responded to issue saying that there are over 30 schools in the same state.

Mwambire also blamed leadership from the previous administration citing that there was no proper planning.

The Ganze MP said he will look for funds through donors and harambees to help cater for the schools since the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) is not enough.
