The Pilau Njeri hitmaker, Femi One, has talked to people living with HIV. She encouraged them that they are supposed to accept their status and take good care of their body.

Through her Instagram account, she wrote; “If you recently found out you’re HIV-positive, you may feel overwhelmed, fearful, and alone. Know that you are not alone. Many people and resources are available to help you. Being HIV-positive is not the death sentence it once was.

It’s a manageable condition like diabetes. One of the most critical steps to take is to start HIV treatment to suppress the virus in your body. Jump to my Instastory to learn more and access free virtual counseling, or book an appointment for treatment on Step1.”

This comes after Phenny Awiti, who publicly creates awareness of HIV since she is also HIV+ cried out on how fair the disease would be. She wished the disease would treat each person according to how it was acquired.

Through her Instagram account, she said; “If only HIV was treating us differently by how we contracted it! That”Phenny, because you did not sexually transmit me, no ARVs for you my friend.”

We all take the ARVs same way, we all experience the side effects, we all at one time, wanted to commit suicide! HIV does not discriminate because you are wealthy, or you are a child, or you are old, or you are young! It treats all of us same way!”

And on the 5th of May 2017, after going through my inbox on Facebook, I thought to myself"I am tired of telling these men one by one in the inbox that I am HIV Positive, let me address them all on my wall!" As soon as I came out publicly, all the coffee dates disappeared, some blocked me, some called me sister in Christ! I knew I had a long way to go in stamping out Stigma and Discrimination from that day. Happy two years @awitiphenny, finally normalizing HIV positively. Still, I am proud that I am raising HIV Negative Babies, so satisfying! Sharing my story yesterday at @rfh_healthcare gave me more contentment! No pitty parties, going strong and confident everyday! Once more, thank you for the invitation @akotheekenya #StrongestAfricanQueen #StigmaFreeSociety
