Police Fail to ID Daring Drug Pusher Hawking Heroin

Police in Nairobi have refused to identify a suspected drug pusher after they arrested him in the sprawling Mathare slums for hawking the banned substance.

Police are said to have conducted a careful swoop to nab the man who has been on the police radar for quite some time.

Police, however, said they are still pursuing the web of accomplices behind the Nairobi drug business syndicate.

Tuesday evening, police found on the suspect some 100 sachets of heroin which they say he was publicly hawking.

“He was found hawking the drugs and we suspect that he is working for some group of people. Immediately we question him we are assured that we shall arrest more,” said an officer privy to the ongoing investigations.

This comes barely a week after police in Mombasa nabbed two women with heroin worth Sh1.2 million after nabbing them in their house.

This had followed a March incident where police stopped a Mombasa man and found heroin worth Sh3 million in the trunk of his car.

Nairobi DCI Bernard Nyakwaka said: “We shall also find out how the drugs end up in the slums. We shall break that chain soon.”
