Kiambu County governor Ferdinand Waititu has been moving around with deputy president Dr William Ruto in almost all functions in what has been speculated to be fronting himself to be Ruto’s running mate in 2022. But will it be possible?
A recent exposure on Kiambu County’s 2017/2018 financial year budget by the senate might have caused the Mt Kenya tanga tanga brigade to change tune.
They have now proposed to the DP a person whom they say has never been implicated in any graft scandal while working in the public service.
The team from Mt Kenya want DP Ruto to pick National Assembly speaker Justin Muturi as his running mate in 2022.
According to them, Ruto can only be assured with Mt Kenya’s full support if he picks Ruto as his running mate.
A section of Ruto allied MPs were speaking during a thanksgiving ceremony for Manyatta MP John Muchiri which Ruto had attended.
The MPs included Mbeere North MP Muriuki Njagagua, Kikuyu MP Kimani Ichungw’a, Tharaka Nithi MP Murugara Gitonga, Nominated MP Cecily Mbarire, Alice Wahome (Kandara), Geoffrey King’ang’i (Mbeere South), Erick Muchangi (Runyenjes), Gichohi Mwangi, Njeru Ndwiga (Embu Senator) and more than 10 Embu MCAs.
