Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu has had a rough time over the past few weeks. Pressure continues to mount over Sh2.1 billion questionable allocations during 2017/2018 budget, the governor seems calm by the graft allegations saying that in his life he only fears two things.

“All this you are seeing is because I am in team Tanga Tanga. But I want to say I am a Christian and I have been through a lot and God always sees me through. I only fear two things; God and hot porridge,” Waititu said.

Former Governor William Kabogo called for the immediate prosecution of Waititu saying the wealth he has acquired over the last few months is questionable.

Deputy Governor James Nyoro has also claimed that county money was being misused especially the revenue collections from across the county including levies from quarries and slaughterhouses as well as parking fees.

On Sunday, Waititu continued to insist that his current woes are politically instigated and as a result of his support for DP William Ruto’s 2022 presidential bid.

He added that the Council of Governors would on Tuesday summon Auditor General Edward Ouko and senior Treasury officials to shed light on the matter that saw a section of Thika residents take to the streets on Friday demanding for Waititu’s immediate resignation.

The controversial Sh2.1 billion allocations came to the limelight last Thursday when Waititu appeared before Senate County Public Accounts Committee to answer audit queries.

Some of the ‘crazy’ allocations that Kiambu 2017/2018 is said to have funded according to the audit report, coordination of State House functions, South Sudan peace process, free primary education and payments of retired presidents.
