Kiambu County Deputy Governor James Nyoro has disowned Governor Ferdinand Waititu over the Sh 2 billion scandal.
This is after Senate County Public Accounts and Investment Committee on Thursday revealed that the Kiambu County Government had spent Sh 2 billion on fictitious projects all of which are responsibilities of the national government.
Nyoro now demands Waititu to explain to Kenyans how and where he spent the billions in question.
While addressing journalists on Saturday at Boulevard hotel in Nairobi, the DG distanced himself from the saga saying he knows nothing about that budget.
He said Waititu and his finance minister are better placed to explain how, when and where the county spent the questionable expenditure.
He warned that Kiambu risks losing billions of money from the Central Bank of Kenya if Waititu won’t account for the already lost billions.
