What really happened in China when President Uhuru Kenyatta and Opposition Chief Raila Odinga?

The duo have all returned from their trip but are yet to make an official statement of how everything went down in China.

They arrived separately from their trip with speculations rife that they met in Dubai for talks even though details of the meeting have remained scanty.

A number of Kenyans are looking for answers, answers that they may not get anytime soon from both Uhuru and Raila.

Yesterday saw Citizen TV’s News Gand made of Linus Kaikai, Yvonne Okwara, Joe Ageyo and Francis Gachuri join the China debate.

The news crew, just like other Kenyans also had questions that need answers. They wondered what really happened in China and why both Uhuru and Raila are yet to make a public appearance after their trip.

“Yvonne: What really happened in China?

Kaikai: Something very bad must have happened in China because we have not seen President Kenyatta and Raila Odinga since they came back, where are they? What went wrong?

Ageyo: Are you sure they came back? “

Well, what Kenyans know for sure is the fact that Uhuru and Raila both attended the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) forum.

It was also said that they were in China to seek an additional loan of shs368 Billion for the Extension of the SGR to Kisumu.

This did not take place with reports emerging that the duo failed to secure the much hyped loan. Uhuru and the Chinese Government did not apparently agree on the terms of the issuance of the loan with Statehouse quick to later state that getting the SGR Loan was not Uhuru’s main agenda in China.

The President was however able to secure an Avocado deal after bilateral talks with his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping.

Kenyan farmers will now export their popular hass avocados to China following the deal signed by Uhuru and Xi Jinping.

It is however Uhuru’s failure to secure the SGR Loan that led to wide speculations among Kenyans and leaders.

Kenyans are waiting on the President or Opposition Chief Raila Odinga to set the record straight on what really happend in China.

It was actually Raila who spilled the beans on their China Mission to Source for more loans to extend the SGR during a visit to Siaya.

“I will be part of the delegation that will accompany the President to the Asian country next week. The new SGR line will extend from Naivasha to Narok, Bomet, Sondu and finally Kisumu,” Raila said.

Did Raila lie to his supporters? Well, only he and Uhuru can help Kenyans clear the doubts they have.
