Early January, a 23-year old lady come out anonymously and accused DK Kwenye Beat and Hopekidof having raped and infected her with an STI. She went on TV and she kept divulging more, including how the situation left her devastated to a point of contemplating suicide.
The story hit the headlines for some days and later the atmosphere was calm with no developing news from the incident. Apparently, no one knew what transpired before everyone went silent on the matter including the alleged victim.
After so many days of silence, Hope kid has come out with a mother of all revelations claiming that they were framed and everything that people heard about him was lies. Hope kid made these revelations on a live interview in one of the local media houses.
“I can tell it to you with a straight face that we were framed,” Hope Kid,
When asked why he apologized to the public when the story came up, he said that no one is perfect.
No one is perfect and that is why I apologized to the audience and fans. However, the only mistake I did was to introduce DK Kwenye Beat to the girl who later became a problem. Said Hopekid
The Gospel Star went ahead and Said All the allegations that were told Had No Truth in them. they were all lies.
Hope kid revealed that he did not do anything with the alleged lady and if there were tests that could be done to prove to the court he was clean he would have done that.
It is difficult to deal with matters of the girl child, especially in Kenyan courts. Hope kid said implying that he was set to lose the case because women are given top priority in Kenya when it comes to justice.
A week after the allegation broke, we went to a private hospital in Nairobi to get tested, “and none of us had herpes. Even the office of the DPP said the whole thing was a waste of time,” Hope Kid reveals.
The same time DPP was looking into it, Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) came out breathing fire, especially towards DK Kwenye Beat. Also, some female celebrities were offering the lady advice on how to go about things, in good-hearted solidarity with a fellow woman. added Hope kid
“When more details of what happened came out, and they realised there was no mileage to be made, FIDA backed off. Even Xtian and Kate Kamau (actress) who had been vocal about the whole thing, went under. They did not even go to Nakuru to give the lady any support,” Hope Kid says with a cynical smile.
“This whole thing was very comical.”
