Kenya Railways announces changes on Madaraka Express

Kenya Railways has announced changes in the Madaraka Express passengers services aimed at improving service delivery.

In a statement seen by Daily Active, the state corporation indicated that advance booking window has been extended from 30 days to 60 days.

Also, in the wake of insecurity cases from terrorism threats, minors travelling alone will be required to produce a copy of their parents/guardian’s national ID/passports.

The new regulations are set to be effected as from 1st June, 2019.

The demand for passengers travelling via the standard gauge railway has tremendously surged since its inception.

Uganda’s president Yoweri Museveni is the latest foreign president to ride on Madaraka Express during his last visit to Kenya in March.
