Gor Mahia receive timely injury boost ahead of Western Stima clash

Gor Mahia head coach Hassan Oktay has welcomed the return of some of his star players from injury and believes the timing of their return will be key to the club ahead of the title run in.

Oktay speaking after their midweek draw against KCB believes fatigue has played a major role in his players’ injuries but insisted that the bigger number of fit players will give him the liberty of perfect squad rotation which he says will be important for his team.

“We are welcoming players back from injury and it is some good news. Kahata (Francis) is back so is Kenneth (Muguna) and the goalkeeper (Boniface Oluoch) and others. They give me the time to find the right balance for the team when I do the rotation which will be important for the team in the title run-in,” Oktay said.

The tactician, however, urged the fans to be a little bit patient with the title talk terming the timing of the talks as early.

“It’s still early days. We still have to learn from our mistakes. We have games to concentrate on and get used to playing on a back to back basis,” Okay added.

Gor Mahia is currently at the top of the KPL log with 59 points and comes against Western Stima in their next league tie.
