Rogue Homabay cops are on the spot after assaulting a High School student who was on his way to register for Huduma Namba.
Police in Ndhiwa are alleged to have arrested the boy identified as Almada Onyango, detained and tortured him for hours before a group of boda-boda operators rescued the boy.
A doctor attending to the injured boys said the assault had damaged nerves responsible for his vocal cords.
The boy has since gone deaf after the assault, with the mother calling for the government to intervene into the matter.
“The officers pounced on him, took him to the AP camp and assaulted him,” Onyango’s mother stated.
βThe officers threatened to shoot me if I dared enter the room where my son was being held. They were still assaulting him. I screamed for help and boda-boda operators who heard my cry came and rescued my son from the officers,β she added.
Homabay County Police Boss, Esther Seroney promised the cops at Kamata AP Camp would be investigated.
