Neighbors rescue 70-year-old woman abducted and dumped in pit latrine

Sellina Musoya, a resident of Kananachi village in Kiminini constituency went missing after she received her monthly stipend, prompting residents and police to begin a search mission.

On the fateful day, Musoya reportedly bought meat from a butchery in Kiminini town before walking home where she was abducted later in the night. A relative who discovered her absence alerted neighbors and the police who commenced the search.

According to Kiminini Location Chief Samson Webi, the woman was reportedly abducted by unknown people from her home as she prepared supper.

The former village elder was discovered half-naked inside the pit latrine in an unoccupied homestead. The owner of the homestead had traveled from Nairobi to inspect the compound when she heard the voice of a human being inside the latrine.

“He had dropped a stone inside the hole to establish its depth when he heard a weak voice and raised alarm. It was then that residents discovered Musoya and immediately rescued her,’’ said Webi.

She was rushed to Kiminini Cottage Hospital for medication and police launched investigations into the matter. Webi said they are waiting for the woman to regain her conscious in order to help police identify her alleged abductors.

‘’We are waiting for her to be stable so that she can help us in investigations. We are going for those behind this shameful and inhumane act,’’ said the administrator.
