Bandari’s death-time strike drowns Soldiers

Bandari garnered all thee points after they managed to beat Ulinzi Stars 1-0. Third place Bandari hosted Ulinzi stars at their home ground, Mbaraki stadium looking to pile more pressure on second-placed Sofapaka who won their match yesterday against Nzoia Sugar.

Both teams were active in the first half but failed to convert several missed chances into goals hence 0-0 at half time.

In the second half, there were some actions as Bandari kept attacking with Ulinzi answering. As the match was almost Over Bandari finally got the opener courtesy of Yema Mwana after Abdalla Hassan floated in a corner.

The visitors’ goalkeeper Saruni made some serious saves, stopping shots of all kinds since the lads have been rampant on his posts hunting for a goal.

Following the win, the Dockers remain in third place on the table with 50 points while Ulinzi remains in the eighth position with 36 points.


The 2016-2017 KPL winners won their last three matches and lost two out of the five that they have recently played. Bandari next match is away against Posta rangers on Sunday as Ulinzi prepares to face Nzoia Sugar.
