Tharaka-Nithi Chief chopped and burnt to death by residents

Irrate residents of Kamaindi location in Tharaka-Nithi County chopped the area Chief Mayau Mukengu into pieces and later burned him.

Reports indicated that the furious residents committed the act after it was discovered the chief was responsible for the death of a man in the location in 2018.

Police however are yet to establish the actual cause for the gruesome act.

In December last year, a chief in Marsabit was burned to death during a public meeting.

Gombo, was ambushed by people who had branded him a traitor as they descended on him with kicks and blows before setting him a blaze.

Reports indicated that the community from which Gombo hails from had been angered when the chief attended a function led by Labour Cabinet Secretary Ukur Yattani to officially recognise the Wayu community as Kenyans.
