The Rift Valley Political landscape is a very tricky one with each and every day that passes presenting itself with a different scenario all together.

Leaders from the area are divided into two noticeable camps, those allied to DP William Ruto and those allied to Baringo Senator Gideon Moi.

There is however another group that is so Anti-Ruto but is yet to declare whether they are in the Gideon Moi camp. This group is led by MPs Alfred Keter of Nandi and Joshua Kutuny of Cherangany.

The duo have been known to have bad blood towards DP William Ruto and are infact so against his 2022 Presidential bid. They have time and again labelled Ruto an incompetent and corrupt person who cannot be trusted with the reigns of power in Kenya.

Their hatred towards Ruto has been said will cost them their various political seats come 2022 and if the latest set of actions from Ruto’s allies are anything to go by, they should be very worried.

In Particular, Cherangany MP Joshua Kutuny has already had his Position subjected to debate by Ruto’s allies with a competitor even being fronted to kick him out from Parliament come 2022.

Former MP Kipruto Kirwa has been fronted by Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi, the DP’s ally Farouk Kibet and Endebess MP Robert Pukose to run for Cherangany MP seat come 2022.

This action apparently angered a number of William Ruto’s supporters. They stormed a function in Cherangany to air their frustrations against the MPs and other leaders fronting Mr. Kipruto Arap Kirwa.

The rowdy youths heckled William Ruto’s allies for trying to dictate and run the Politics of Cherangany.

Kutuny was not present at the function that was also attended by Elgeyo Marakwet senator Kipchumba Murkomen, Kericho Senator Aron Cheruiyot, Soy MP Caleb Kositany and Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa.

Kipkelion West MP Hillary Kosgey, Belgut MP Nelson Koech and Laikipia Woman Representative Cate Waruguru were present. Others are former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale and Kirwa.

Kutuny later said the heckling means residents do not support the DP.

“The Deputy President has failed to address maize farmers’ plight. He does not back the fight against corruption and, therefore, the hecklers might have been expressing their frustration,” Kutuny said.

Should Kipruto Arap Kirwa run against Kutuny in 2022, it will not be the first time the duo will go head to head.

It will be remembered that in 2007, Kutuny defeated Kirwa. He later lost his seat to Wesley Korir before recapturing the seat later in 2017 after defeating the former Boston Marathon Champion.

Kutuny is a daring William Ruto critic and as such, Ruto’s allies seem to be on a mission to completely do away with him come 2022.
