The comparison between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo seemed to have come to an end when Ronaldo’s Juventus was bundled out of the Champions League competition.
Messi now seems to be the only ‘goat’ remaining in the competition as he is dealing blow to every team he comes across.
Messi led Barcelona during the humiliating defeat of Manchester United and on Wednesday, he turned his fury on Liverpool.
The Argentinian scored two goals for Barcelona in their 3-0 defeat against Liverpool at Nou Camp.
He scored the first goal by easily tapping the ball into the net after Suarez shot was deflected by the bar.
And perhaps his second goal is the reason for all talks in the city.
Many have hailed the five-time Ballon d’Or winner for his excellence when taking a free-kick, which he converted to a goal.
This goal even sparked former Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli to put it clear to football fans who are fond of comparing Messi and Ronaldo.
Writing on his Instagram page, Balotelli said, ” for the sake of football, no one should ever compare Messi and number 7 of Juventus..”
Messi and Ronaldo now have the same number of Official club goals in their career.
