Thika road commuters to miss Kenya Mpya today

Thousands of commuters who depend on Neo Kenya and Joy mpya buses are today stranded after the company announced unavailability of their services.

In a statement issued on social media, the company said that the reason for unavailability was in honor of their departed directors.

The company however promised to be back on 1st May, tomorrow.

As at 6:30 am, hundreds of passengers who were not aware.

On social media, passengers not aware of the communication expressed their frustration after the disappointment that ensued.

The unaivailability of Kenya Mpya Buses will leave the other competitors, Manchester Sacco, Chania Travellers, new entrants Super Metro and among other travel companies with a monopoly.

Joy Kenya and Neo Kenya are part of Kenya Mpya bus transport and the biggest single company plying Thika-Nairobi route.

The company is is owned by a Kirinyaga family and has recently been in criticism over careless driving.

At the beginning of this month, a woman’s leg was crushed by one of the buses as it fled from police.

Despite the criticism, the buses have remained to be favourite among passengers who grapple for them at any available opportunity.
