Edinburgh School Murang’a, allegedly owned by the County’s governor Mwangi wa Iria and valued at Sh750 million collapsed last night following heavy rains.
The school that is near Murang’a University is among the most prestigious school in the County.
The collapse has come with a surprising degree of criticism people terming it as ‘karma’.
Residents of Murang’a said that the school was built with ill gotten wealth allegedly looted from the county.
Early last year, the county boss was in limelight for ejecting staff of a a major water company managed by his business rival and tycoon Peter Munga.
It is not however established if there are any casualties following the collapse.
About seven months ago, the school was penalized by the then embattled water company
Murang’a Water and Sanitation Company (Muwasco) for stealing water.
The school had bee disconnected by the water company after failing to pay bills amounting to almost Sh0.5 million prompting the disconnection.
